What happens when you go pro with poaching your eggs? It can never be a thing of less happiness.

With a lot of dieting programs gaining grounds all over, eggs do not fall out on any list and mastering how to prepare your eggs the right way is just as wise a move as going to the gym.

Eggs are one of the few nutritious and safe animal protein on a list of few others. Just like whey protein supplements, eggs are known to help build muscle mass and encourage weight loss.

Poached eggs are a low-calorie and healthier way of preparing eggs which does not require fats for preparation. And just for the record, it takes less than 5minutes to be ready.

Many people are non hesitant to order for poached eggs in restaurants but cannot make them at home because they are a bit tricky to make. Not when you master them.

Below are 3 ways you can make your poached eggs and come out with them like a champ.

#method 1: The fresh eggs method

  1. Get your fresh eggs and crack them in to a cereal bowl or a tumbler.
  2. Fill a pan of about four inches deep with water to a level of three inches.
  3. Bring it to a simmer and steady the temperature.
  4. Gently lower your cereal bowl or tumbler containing the egg and drop it to the bottom of the water
  5. Allow it to cook for about 3 minutes then remove it and place it in ice water to stop the cooking process.
  6. your poached egg is ready.

You can use this method to poach as many fresh eggs as possible at the same time.

#method 2: The swirling water method

This method is used for old eggs which since they have a lot of watery fluid that may scatter while poaching in normal steady water.

  1. Get your old eggs and crack them in a cereal bowl or tumbler.
  2. Fill a pan of about four inches  deep with water to a level of three inches
  3. Bring it to a simmer and steady the temperature
  4. Swirl the water and pour in the egg at the same time carefully: This is the game point. The swirling water helps to coordinate the egg white to form round the yoke and make the perfect spherical shape.
  5. Allow it to cook for 3 minutes then remove it and place it in ice water
  6. your poached egg is ready

This method can only b used to poach one egg at a time.

#method 3: The food safe film method

Cooking films are used to poach eggs in other to obtain perfect smooth cylindrical shape.

  1. Fill a pan of about  four inches with water to a level of three inches
  2. Bring it to a simmer  and steady the temperature
  3. Get a clean food safe film, cut it and put it into your little bowl or tumbler
  4. Get a little oil and rub around the film; this prevents the egg white from adhering to the film.
  5. Pour your egg into the film
  6. Pull in the sides and tie in a knot very tight.
  7. Allow it to cook for 3minutes and then remove from the water
  8. Place it in ice water and remove it after cooling
  9. Use a kitchen scissors or knife to cut the knot of the film.
  10. Your smooth, cylindrical and perfect poached egg is ready,

P.S: Do not allow the water to boil in any case in other to prevent is from scattering the egg white. Also, adding salt increases the water density and may scatter the egg white.
